When I first met with Michelle, she asked me what my goal was for our time together. Holding back tears, I told her that my goal is to see my children (ages 6, 8 & 11) graduate from high school.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in my early 20's. Since then, I have been hospitalized numerous times, placed on several courses of high doses of steroids, received nutrition through a PIC line, and had major surgery. It is a life-altering and life-threatening disease.
I had been managing my disease using traditional medicine, but I wasn't seeing the results that I wanted. I was exhausted all of the time, my joints were achey, and when I ate it felt like there were shards of glass in my stomach.
I knew there had to be a better solution than what traditional medicine had to offer.
A trusted friend of mine referred me to Michelle. I can honestly say that my life has been transformed as the result of working with her.
From day one, Michelle encouraged me to take small steps forward on my health journey. Her recommendations were always practical, easy-to-implement, and tailored to exactly what I needed at that time.
I learned that the diet I had previously been recommended was part of the problem. In fact, it was actually making my symptoms worse.
With Michelle's guidance, I transitioned some helpful foods in and other less helpful foods out. For the first time in decades, I am now able to eat raw fruits and vegetables. I am now even able to eat one of my favorite foods—nuts.
Before this, I had no clue how and what I should eat. I would avoid foods like salad because I thought they would make me sick.
Now, I'm more in tune with my body and aware of how specific foods affect me physically and psychologically.
As a result of what I learned, I have experienced an increase in both my energy levels and overall well-being. I look better and feel better.
And we worked on more than just my diet.
I achieved greater balance across a number of dimensions in my life. I started exercising more, sleeping better, and engaging in activities that filled me spiritually.
I went from merely surviving to truly thriving.
I have a greater awareness about what works best for me.
